cpanel-ai-advisor (2.03-1+1.1.cpanel) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant's API documentation now identifies each operation
by its module and function name, matching the convention the rest of cPanel's
  API reference uses.

cpanel-ai-advisor (2.02-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Feature names and descriptions containing an accent, a trademark sign
or any other non-English character are no longer garbled in the AI Assistant's
activity cards, nor sent to the answer service garbled. On servers with a
binary cPanel install, an action whose details contain an accented character no
longer fails outright with an internal serialization error. An approval whose
identifier contains a non-English character is no longer refused as though it
  had been tampered with.

cpanel-ai-advisor (2.01-1) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant now recommends email addresses when asked which accounts to create, instead of repeatedly asking for an address it was never given.

cpanel-ai-advisor (2.00-1) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant no longer drops the password step, or leaves an empty numbered item in its place, when answering a how-to question about creating an email account.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.99-1) stable; urgency=low

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.98-1) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant now receives a question asked in Spanish, French,
Romanian or any other language written with accented characters exactly as
it was typed, instead of a corrupted copy of it, and the length limit on a
question now counts characters rather than bytes.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.97-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Remove the AIAssistant::ask UAPI function. The AI Assistant hub streams every conversation over its SSE endpoint and no longer calls it.
  * The AI Assistant no longer offers its own API functions as actions it can run during a conversation.
  * The installed version stamp is refreshed on upgrade, so analytics events report the build the server is actually running.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.96-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Analytics now switch off when the installed event dictionary is missing an event the advisor emits, instead of dropping that one event silently.
  * The advisor and the theme now read a null pattern in the event dictionary the same way.
  * An event dictionary pattern that quietly parses as something other than it reads as is now reported once, instead of failing values with no diagnostic.
  * A dictionary carrying a non-boolean required flag, or a pattern that will not compile is now judged the same way by the advisor and the theme, and an uncompilable pattern is named in the log instead of being reported as an emitter fault.
  * The published API specs reported the wrong first cPanel version for every AIAssistant UAPI call.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.95-1) stable; urgency=low

  * When the AI Assistant creates an account that needs a password, the
server now generates a strong one instead of the assistant inventing it, and
shows it to you once. The value is no longer part of the conversation data -
the copy button fetches it when you click, and the server discards it as soon
as it is read. New email accounts are also reported by the address you asked
for, rather than by cPanel's internal "user+domain" form.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.94-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Disable analytics rather than emit unvalidated events when the installed event dictionary carries a malformed property definition.
  * Add the AIAssistant::event_schema UAPI function, which returns the analytics event dictionary the server installed.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.93-1) stable; urgency=low

  * An approval card that was declined or left unanswered is closed on the server before the next question, so the assistant no longer proposes that change again beside the next, unrelated request. A declined card can no longer be approved afterwards.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.92-1) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant's messages now read in the active voice and no
longer say "please", and its error messages name what could not be done
instead of describing it as something that happened to you.
  * The AI Assistant now recommends common email addresses when you ask
for address suggestions for your business at the start of a conversation,
rather than only after email has already been mentioned.
  * The AI Assistant now tells you when your server is not authorized to
use it, instead of reporting an authorization refusal as a temporary outage
and asking you to try again.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.84-1) stable; urgency=low

  * The AI Assistant no longer leaves part of a password visible in an
error message when two of a request's secret values overlap.
  * The assistant no longer discards an answer because it ended by
offering to make the change, so a question answered alongside an offer still
  shows the answer.
  * The assistant no longer loses the start of a conversation when
its first question is answered locally, so a follow-up request is acted on
with the details already given instead of failing.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.82-1) stable; urgency=low

  * When a follow-up message supplies a password for a mailbox (or

and resending the request, instead of silently ignoring what was typed.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.81-1) stable; urgency=low

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.80-1) stable; urgency=low

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.78-1) stable; urgency=low

  * A conversation that opens by asking for recommendations now keeps
its history, instead of treating every later question as though it were the
  first.
  * Asking about mailing lists, SpamAssassin, Email Deliverability,
Global Email Filters or team users now says the feature is not in Meridian yet
and where to find it in the classic interface, instead of describing steps for
a screen that is not there.
  * The assistant no longer follows an answer about a feature Meridian
does not have with a link to an unrelated part of the interface, and a
question that ends with a feature name is answered again.
  * Questions that merely mention email - filters, quota, settings,
passwords - are answered again, instead of being met with an offer to create
  email accounts.
  * A conversation that opens with a question about a feature Meridian
does not have yet now keeps its history, instead of treating every later
question as though it were the first.

  * When the assistant cannot make changes for you, the phrasing it suggests now asks how to do it yourself rather than offering to do it.
  * When a question is not recognised, the assistant now points at the part of cPanel it relates to and shows two phrasings that work, instead of listing topics.
  * Asking where to do something in cPanel now names the actual hub and button in the interface you are running, with a link to it.

 -- Andy Baugh <andy.baugh@webpros.com> Thu, 03 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0000

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.76-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Cancelling a change now leaves nothing pending, and asking to remove several mailboxes proposes the removal instead of asking what to create.
  * Adding an addon domain, and deleting a subdomain, now work when you name them the way you would say them.
  * Asking the assistant how to do something in cPanel now gets you the steps instead of a request for details it does not need.
  * A question about your own account is answered without the assistant first searching for the action, so answers arrive faster.

 -- Andy Baugh <andy.baugh@webpros.com> Thu, 03 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0000

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.75-1) stable; urgency=low

  * When an approved action fails, the AI Assistant now reports

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.73-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Answers containing accented characters now arrive correctly in the
assistant pane. A reply mentioning a name like Mueller with an umlaut, or any
accented word, no longer shows replacement characters.
  * The AI Assistant no longer tells you that no subdomains or email
accounts have been created when your account has some. Its suggestions now say
only that nothing has been changed yet, which is what it means.
  * When the AI Assistant offers to create a database or database user, the
name it shows you now includes the prefix cPanel requires, so the change you
approve is the change that runs. Answering its question with just a name works,
and a request that names the database plainly no longer fails after you approve
  it.
  * The AI Assistant no longer offers to delete a database, database user,
FTP account or parked domain that your account does not have. A request naming
something it cannot find is refused before you are asked to approve it, instead
of proposing a change that could not have worked.
  * The AI Assistant no longer loses track of what you already told it.
After it looks something up, a detail you gave earlier - an email address, for
example - still counts as your request, so a conversation that hit one problem
can carry on instead of asking again for something you had already provided.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.72-1) stable; urgency=low

  * Fixed a case where the assistant could claim it had started
on a change that was actually refused, when one request mixed a
refused action with a mis-called one.
  * The AI Assistant no longer rejects website details you typed
yourself (like a multi-word site title), and no longer tells you to
start over after you have answered its questions.
  * The AI Assistant now catches a change request it cannot call
correctly before proposing it: it fixes the call or asks you for the
missing detail, instead of showing an approval card that fails right
  after you approve it.

cpanel-ai-advisor (1.71-1) stable; urgency=low

  * When the AI Assistant asks what to call a new database or database
user, it now tells you that the name must begin with your account name, so the
change it proposes is one cPanel will accept.
  * Answering the AI Assistant when it asks for an email address now
reaches the approval card. The address you give in reply is recognised as the
account to create, in the assistant pane and through the API, instead of being
met with the same request again.
  * Telling the AI Assistant that something of yours has stopped working
now gets you help with the problem rather than being sent to the classic
interface as though you had asked where the feature lives.
  * Asking the AI Assistant to create a database, database user, subdomain, FTP
account or DNS record without saying what to call it now gets you a question about the
details it needs, and then a change to approve, instead of instructions for doing it
  yourself.
  * Asking the AI Assistant to create a database without saying what to call it
now gets you a question about the name, and then a change to approve, instead of
  instructions for creating it yourself.
  * Asking the AI Assistant about something else no longer gets you the previous
question again, so following "which email address?" with "how many databases do I
have?" now answers the question you asked.
  * The AI Assistant no longer asks you twice for a mailbox address you
already gave. Where it had added a detail of its own to a change you asked for, it
now retries the change without that detail instead of asking you to supply the
  address again.
  * The AI Assistant no longer offers to create a mailbox named after whoever a
request mentions, so asking for "a mailbox for the new hire at example.com" no longer
proposes hire@example.com. Answering its request for an address now works however
  many turns the conversation takes.
  * The AI Assistant now understands a mailbox request whether the words "email
account" come before or after the address, accepts the address when you answer its
own question with "the email address is sales at example.com", and no longer sends
you to the classic interface when you report a broken page or when you name a mailbox
after a feature it does not have yet.
  * The AI Assistant no longer offers to create a mailbox from a sentence that
merely mentions an address, such as "she works at example.com", and no longer sends
you to the classic interface when you report that your site is showing an error page.
Asking for a mailbox in the spoken form now reaches the approval card instead of
repeatedly asking for the address you already gave.
  * The AI Assistant now recognises a misspelled name for a feature that is
not in the new interface yet, and still tells you where to find it in the classic
interface, instead of coming back with nothing.
  * The AI Assistant now understands an email address written the way you
would say it out loud, such as "sales at example.com". Asking for a mailbox
that way previously got you a request for the address you had just given, and
answering that request the same way asked again.

  * When the assistant tells you a domain is not on your account, it now
waits for you to say which of your domains to use. Before, it could quietly
re-propose the same change on your own domain, and the approval request named
only the domain it had switched to. If a change does move to a different domain,
the approval request now names both the domain you asked for and the one it will
  use.
  * The assistant now tells you a domain is not on your account BEFORE it
offers you a change to approve. Naming a domain your account does not have -
when creating an FTP account, a subdomain, an email account or a DNS record -
used to produce a full approval request that only failed after you approved it.
Your addon and parked domains count as yours, which the check for email
  accounts did not allow for.

  * An approval card that covers several changes at once now lists each
change once. Asking for a database and a database user no longer shows the same
user twice, or shows a combined "create both" action beside the two actions it
already contains - so approving once runs each change once.
  * The streamed (Meridian) AI Assistant now applies the same maximum question
length as the UAPI, refusing an oversized question before it is sent, and
confirming an approved action now applies the same conversation-length
  limit as asking a question.

  * The AI Assistant now asks which subdomain, database, FTP account or DNS
record you meant instead of choosing one for you, the way it already did for email
accounts. Asking whether you should create something no longer produces a change to
approve, and an approval card now tells you where on disk a new subdomain or FTP
account will live. Creating a mailbox on a domain your account does not have is now
refused before you are asked to approve it, including when the address and the
domain are given separately - that form skipped the check and failed only after you
  approved it.

  * The AI Assistant now keeps a record of every change it makes to your
account - what it did, what it changed, and how it turned out - stored in your
own account. Approving a change is what creates its record, so nothing the
assistant does on your behalf goes unrecorded. And if a request does not
match what an action actually accepts, the assistant declines it and tells
you, instead of reporting a change that did not happen.

  * Approval cards now carry the recoverability explanation as its own
field, so the interface can show it without repeating it.
  * When an action you approved fails, the AI Assistant now always tells
you whether your account was left unchanged, put back as it was, or may need
checking - instead of leaving that out of its answer.
  * An approval card for an email change now tells you the change can be
undone if it fails part-way, instead of always saying it cannot.
  * When you approve an action, the AI Assistant now makes sure it runs
with the recoverability its approval card described, and asks you to approve
  again if that has changed.
  * The AI Assistant no longer puts internal diagnostic detail in the
message it shows you when an action fails, and no longer warns that an account
may be inconsistent when the action never started.

  * The AI Assistant now tells you an action's outcome is unknown, rather
than that it simply failed, when a write it was protecting is interrupted in a
way that loses the result - so an account that may have been left part-way
through a change is reported as one to check.
  * The AI Assistant no longer reports a write action that cPanel
refused to run as one that failed part-way. A refused action is always
described as having changed nothing, and the server records why when it
  cannot tell the two apart.
  * cPanel now records a warning when the AI Assistant cannot load the
API rollback classification on a server that has it, instead of silently
running approved write actions without rollback protection.
  * The AI Assistant no longer suggests rephrasing a question that it
refused as being outside cPanel's scope; it now says what to ask about
instead, and no longer appends "I wasn't able to find a confident answer to
that question" underneath a streamed answer that did arrive.
  * The AI Assistant now protects recoverable write actions with the
cPanel rollback layer, and its approval card says whether a change can be
  undone before you approve it.
  * Asking the AI Assistant how to do something now answers with
instructions again, instead of starting the change and asking for the details
it would need to make it.

  * Per-invocation cost telemetry now carries the cached-input token count, so
cache-served traffic can be priced at the cached rate instead of full price.
  * A turn is labeled measured only when every round-trip reported usable
counts; a partially reported turn takes the labeled stub instead of
presenting an undercount as a measurement.
  * Cost telemetry now reports an approval-paused turn's spend, and a turn whose
model hops disagree or fail validation is attributed to "unknown" rather than
a model it did not run on.
  * Per-invocation cost telemetry now reports the token counts the answer service
measured, rather than a fixed placeholder, so cost reporting reflects what a
  question actually spent.

  * The AI Assistant now remembers what it read earlier in a
conversation, so a follow-up request can act on it. A request to change or
remove items the assistant has just listed - "remove the current email
addresses" - now shows an approval card naming each real item instead of
reporting that they do not exist.

  * Asking the AI Assistant to "delete" a subdomain or addon domain now finds the right action instead of reporting the feature unavailable

  * A turn that is refused before it reaches the answer service - because
the assistant is switched off, the account is over its daily cap, or the
question is about a feature Meridian does not have yet - now returns the trace
id that identifies it, so the turn can be correlated instead of being
untraceable. Previously no trace id was returned for any of those turns.

  * Removing an addon domain, and other actions whose target the API
identifies by more than one field, no longer fail with a request to name an item
  the user had already named.

  * The Meridian "not available here, use Jupiter" redirect now recognises
awkward phrasings of a feature name, such as "raw my access logs", instead of
answering only when the words appear exactly as the interface spells them. It
recognises them whatever their capitalisation, so "OPTIMIZE MY WEBSITE" is
redirected the same as "optimize my website".
  * Asking how to optimize a website, track DNS, or set up email archives in
Meridian now gets the "not available here, use Jupiter" redirect for the phrasings
people actually type, such as "how do I optimize my website", instead of reaching
  no answer at all.
  * On cPanel versions before 138, asking the assistant to add a domain now reaches
the operation that creates one. "Add a domain" and "create a new domain"
previously ranked it 22nd and 15th among the actions it searches, so the assistant
could propose nothing and the turn ended by inviting you to approve a change that
never appeared. On 138 and later such a request already reached the operation that
adds a separate registered domain, and still does.

  * A streamed action that cannot be prepared for approval now ends the
turn with the error it reported, instead of also reporting the turn as
successful with an approval still outstanding.
  * A streamed answer whose result is a data table is no longer
followed by a "couldn't find an answer" message, and is no longer reported
  as a failed turn.
  * The assistant's answer now reports the outcome of a turn -
whether it answered, refused or degraded, and why - on both the streaming
and non-streaming surfaces. An over-cap refusal is now reported as a rate
limit rather than as a disabled provider.

  * A create verb spelled in a mailbox name after "named" or "called" no
longer makes discovery read the request as a create, which had mis-read even a
  delete request as one.
  * A create verb spelled inside an email address or a hostname no longer
makes discovery read the request as a create, which had promoted unrelated
create operations for a password-reset ask.
  * Discovery now reads a hyphenated "set-up" or "sign-up" as the same
compound verb as the spaced spelling, instead of dropping the create intent
and ranking unrelated set_* operations for a create request.

  * Action discovery now finds a feature when its name is wrapped in a
natural question. Greylisting, Web Disk and php.ini asks reached no usable
result; a query term is now matched on word and value boundaries instead of as
  a raw substring.
  * Preserve accurate recommendations and destructive-action safeguards.
  * Require explicit confirmation before widening destructive AI actions.
  * Asking the AI Assistant to recommend email addresses now works when you say "addresses" rather than "email addresses", and agreeing to create the ones it suggested no longer asks you to retype them.
  * Deleting an email address now keeps the stored mail unless you ask for it to be removed too, and the approval card says which will happen.
  * The approval card now says when an action would remove more than the item you named, such as an account's files, and the assistant will not add that without being asked.
  * The AI Assistant will not offer to delete anything you did not name yourself, and the approval card now names the object that will actually be removed rather than a related one.
